Innovation in Aquaculture

Message from the Board

Welcome to EcoSea!

As you navigate our website, we hope you learn more about what makes our company the leader in offshore, sustainable aquaculture.

We are helping feed the world’s growing population.

Aquaculture has been supplying a growing percentage of seafood since the 1990s, including roughly 70 million tonnes in 2010 alone. In 2016, farmed seafood crossed a significant threshold and began to supply more than half of the global need. According to the World Resources Institute, total world demand for seafood will be about 220 million tonnes by 2050, that is only a little more than 30 years from now. At the same time, the supply of wild catch will decrease to about 80 million tonnes. To meet global needs, it is imperative that we increase aquaculture production by 140 million tonnes by the year 2050.

It is vital we work to supply the food people need in a sustainable and environmentally sound way, one that protects Earth and allows farmers to operate profitable businesses.

We specialize in sustainable and environmentally sound aquaculture solutions.

Since our inception, EcoSea has strived to change the way fish are cultured from floating enclosures made with traditional synthetic nets to modern submersible pens with fouling resistant copper-alloys. We have applied our significant knowledge and cutting-edge technology to make fish farming sustainable and environmentally sound. Our technology turns farm centers into profit-generating businesses that contribute to our local communities.

Copper alloy mesh is fouling resistant which means farmers spend less time maintaining operations, fish have a free flow of naturally oxygenated water, and are subject to less disease. Moving to offshore sites keeps our estuaries, fjords, and bays free of pollution and reduces visual impact while allowing farms to scale operations up.

EcoSea looks forward to working with you to meet the world’s future needs.
